Well been a busy month really at work and such but things should be settling down and thankfully soon I will have caught up with OCTGN card releases. Set 6 is almost ready for release and with it's release, we should have the final Gundam War card set needed to have the full collection on OCTGN. This is great as it finally gives me free time, the past couple months have been alot of work from me in putting out new sets each week in an attempt to catch up. So whats next after series 6 is out?
Well events will go on as normal for Gundam War and I'm also likely going to try to start doing some Sunrise Crusade touranments on the site as well, but no exact dates and such on that, or how it will be done at this point. Card releases will continue as they are released in Japan and as soon as I can get good scans of cards and find translations for the cards to use. Sunrise Crusade series 3 comes out some time next month, and in May two new Gundam War starters are coming out which are supposed to be multicolored decks with Gundam 00 as the central theme holding it together. So next two months should see some new releases here on the site if all goes well. As I stated in another thread on the board, I want to compile also a collection of generation cards. TO help speed up releases for OCTGN, we generally omitted basic generation cards. I don't plan on release all generation cards on OCTGN, but whatever I can get my hands on, so right now collecting any gens I can find to create a special generations only octgn release so people can spice up their decks with some flavor.
The past 2 months or so I really haven't been promoting this site at all and would like to get back to that. First thing though is to finish all the main sets, as what I want to do is create one large batch file with all the card sets in it. The whole point is to just make it easier for new players to get into the game. New players come to the site and get overwhelmed with the sheer number of cards they must download and install, so it will be for the best to create one large batch file with all the sets in it. Just one download.... they still gotta install each set seperately, but at least they just need to download one file. So hope to do that soon, and once that is done we can try doing some site promotion to get some new blood to the site and possibly find some of our old player base that has dissapeared over the months.
Work on OCTGN 2.0 continues from what I can tell, but still seems like it will be some time before a public release is made that is compatible with other card games. Developer on 2.0 has confirmed with me that all old octgn sets should work fine with 2.0 once it's finalized so that is something to look forward too, as it's quite an upgrade in all departments for the software.
And coming up we have at the end of the month our first new tournament for the start of our new OCTGN Tourny Season! It's a themed event with details here:
